Linking Plants to Photos This lesson explains how to use the Quick Link Photos
program (GA030) to link your Plant Collection to your Photos collection.
|
- In the initial screen GA030S01
Click on the Find a Photo button.
- Find a photo in the dialog box that comes up
Click Preview to make sure you select the correct photo. When you
select a photo, screen GA030S01 will re-appear and the image you selected will be displayed
- In screen FG030S01
If the photo is a photo of a plant: Click the Plant Photo
button Screen FG030S03 will appear
- In screen GA030S03
A "default" plant name is selected and is displayed bottom right of screen. Bonsai Genie remembers the last plant you used and uses it as default. If its
the correct plant, all you have to do is click on the "Link" button. In that case, goto step 6 If its not the right plant, you have a number of options a) You can very quickly find another plant, if you know it already exists in your database Simply enter a few characters in any of the 3 search fields in the Find another Plant
box (Genus, species, cultivar). After you type 2 characters, the predictive text feature shows a list of plants beginning with the characters you keyed. The more characters you type, the shorter the predicted list of plants. Click to select when you see the required plant in the list. If you use the species or cultivar search field, you can find any plant in a database of 35,000 plants with only a few keystrokes. b)
To add a new plant, click the Add a NEW Plant
button
- Verify that the correct plant has been selected (its name will be displayed in the pale yellow field just above the Link button.
If the plant does not have specimens go to Step 7
- If the plant has specimens (Bonsai plants are specimens), click the Specimens
tab
The screen now displays a list of all specimens for the plant you selected (remember, in Bonsai Genie you can have one or many specimens of a plant name e.g. Pinus mugo) Click on the specimen in the list, and click the
Select
button The linking display re-appears The specimen name will be displayed in the pale yellow field just above the Link button
NOTE: If the plant does not have specimens, the Specimens tab will be disabled (grey)
- Click the Link button
Thats it!
- Screen GA030S01 re-appears.
A list of all photos in the selected folder appears (the folder where you found the first photo) The next unlinked photo is selected and the image is
displayed
- Repeat the process to link photos in that folder to respective plants and specimens
